Painting, oil on canvas, of Michaelson House by Mrs Michaelson (Victorian British School). The painting shows Barrow Island and Michaelson House from the Strand with iron ore schooners in Walney Channel. Jane Gibson married Thomas Michaelson of Cartmel in 1841 and shortly after Michaelson bought Barrow Island; the mansion then became known as Michaelson House. The painting benefited from conservation in 2008.
